About me
im not very good at writing, i hope it's not too boring ^^;
Greetings!
My name on the interwebz is Mr.Backup(Although you can also find me as Bekura!) and im an electronics and robotics diplomated italian guy from Tuscany!
Although electronics and generalist tech is my field of expertise, i've done some minor translating jobs for some Open Source projects and last but not least, i've practiced in the art of digital artistry, mostly related to memes and personal small projects(alongside a tad of video-editing and composing works too recently!)
i also program videogames! Although i haven't published anything as of yet(You'll know when a project is ready though, don't worry! ;3).
So, what's your story?'
Oh! *caresses his long wizard-style beard* My story dates back to the ancient times: when the internet was starting to become mainstream, while still being somewhat niche in the EU. I was one of the few lucky ones to find out about the internet when i was just a wee kid thanks to my father.
It was the decade of the wild west! Where an e-mail account could give you access to basically any social media and accounts weren't required for viewing posts! RSS was still pretty much used and the usenet was somewhat ending at this point. That's when i've found out that the world was much more vast than a simple group of people in small huts in the middle of nowhere: i saw the period of transition between the old anonymous experience with small unsung "famous" nicks, into what i thought at the time was a miracle: the online world becoming famous OUTSIDE of the web!
That's also the time when i've started playing my first games: i began with classics such as Wolf3D and Quake, Warcraft 2 and Command and Conquer during the non-online days, up to GTA:San Andreas, Tekken 5, Driver: Parallel Lines, Call of Duty: World at War, Super mario, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Megaman, and so on and so forth. With them, i found out about fandoms and people liking such games, sometimes so much so that they'd make art, animations, modifications, or simply gameplays.
With this new world, my view on videogames and art evolved: as i advanced into more story-driven games, i slowly found out that games could not only be simple fun toys, but also a form of storytelling that could make you feel invested emotionally! Mistery Dungeon gut-punched me very hard to make me understand it:"no, games aren't just toys with story, videogames are ART!"
With it, i found out about videogame programming: how videogames work, what Open Source is and how cool it can be to modify games that other people made! At some point i became invested in the pokemon romhacking, that it became the reason i started knowing about AUs and pokemon artists such as TamarinFrog! That's how i started my hobby of drawing!
I've cherished those moments, but sadly depression can hit hard and fear of insults and critique can be the difference between sharing and locking up ideas out of paranoia.
Cutting it short: many vicissitudes after, i haven't published anything worthwhile on the web of what i wanted to share, but i can finally say that i am ready to post some art, share my AUs and, hopefully, share my games to the world!
The idea behind the site was to engrave a small rune-like mark on the massive mountain that is the World Wide Web after all! It's not a recent idea at all:
i've been patiently lurking the web since atleast the 2000s, differentiating between "good" and "bad" community influences, after leaving a lot of small anonymous traces it was finally time to get the courage to pick up the chisel and actually carve my own small permanent mark of creation and thoughts somewhere. Now i think it's time to revisit that idea more seriously.
Okay whatever, but why this site? Why not socials?
I just really like the cozy idea of a personal blog. Socials are quite convenient, it's true, but at the same time they're bound by the limits of the masses: it's the perfect product, but not the perfect form of expression
Alright, so watcha posting?
Oh! I have a couple of ideas! Thanks for asking! :D I have some current(as of 2026) plans to share info about the game im actively developing(it's about the Bekura! :D), some drawings of various OCs and AUs and in general all the cool little things i find really cool to share like music, sprites, models(i do that too sometimes!) and programming cool electronic devices! Im also thinking about sharing some amateurish "movie reviews" so that i can finally put my infinite bucket list of stuff to watch fixed somewhere easily accessible for me.
Im open to suggestions too! so give me a heads up if you find any cool movies/series that i should watch! ^W^
I could also talk about personal moral things. But it must be stated: THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE NO ARGUMENTS ABOUT POLITICS ZONE
i care not whether you're a wearer of the red beret or the blue fatigue, which cardinal point you prefer nor who you'd like to duel with.
i'd like to ask you to take a deep breath, put off your symbols of choice, and temporarily leave them on the wardrobe at the entrance of the bunker: a small fluffy sheep will hang them for you.
Then again, it may unfortunately come that day, and for that i will still try to put warnings when needed.
If you find anything that may annoy you, let me know! I'll do my best to fix it without hurting the integrity of my shower-thoughts. ^^
Is that your Sheep OC, what's his story? Also you're a furry!
It's kind of my mascotte: i found out a few years ago that i love rotund things, especially if fluffy and sheep-shaped, that's how i've decided to make a sheep-like character.
Also: my name is Backup and Pecora means sheep, so it just naturally became the "Bekura"!
Im thinking of making a quasi-race of Bekuras however: it's not as creative, but i think people deserve to have their own personal fluffy and sphere-shaped sheep character c:
as for the rest i uh... huh. i've never thought of it that way! I guess i kind of am a furry now. :Tc
yo this website sucks! It's not even active at all! I want my money back!
im sorry, i have no money! All of this is free aswell! :c
Im making stuff as i go, so some jankyness is to be expected. Im doing everything with a text editor and my stubborness against overly-engineered software, so im afraid you'll have to be patient.
if it really can't be helped: as of right now(2026) im most active on Tumblr and X when im up for some quick posting.
Congratulations on reading all of the Bekura-related lore! You can return to the main page through the link below!
